2012年、日本橋から京都三条大橋まで、旧東海道を、3週間かけて歩いて踏破した。これがきっかけで、長距離ウォーキングに興味を持った。道中、いろいろな体験をした。この旅をクリアするために、道中のリスクを考え、リストアップし対策を施した。それが功を奏し、予定どおり3週間で達成した。
貴重な体験だった。
2022年、朝日新聞社主催の東京エクストリーム100と言うイベントを知った。躊躇せずに申し込みをし、練習を重ねトライした。
これまた、24時間以内で100キロを歩くなんてできるだろうかと思ったが、それがまた、素晴らしい体験。完歩することで、何事にも自信がついた感じがする。最高齢完歩者、女性は87才、男性は84才だそうだ。トライして私が最高齢完歩者を目指そう。
